Tampa prepares for Hurricane Milton with mandatory evacuations

The City of Tampa is actively preparing for the arrival of Hurricane Milton, which is expected to impact the Tampa Bay area as a major hurricane. In response to this impending threat, city officials are emphasizing the importance of residents securing their properties and debris, as well as formulating family emergency plans.

Mandatory evacuations have been announced for Evacuation Zones A and B. Residents in these areas are advised to review evacuation maps and make necessary arrangements. Additionally, a list of emergency shelters has been made available for those seeking refuge.

City leaders will hold a press conference today at 12:30 pm at the Tampa Emergency Operations Center (EOC) to discuss final preparations ahead of the storm. The public is encouraged to stay informed about storm-related updates by enrolling in the City of Tampa's emergency alert system.
