The City of Tampa's Solid Waste Department will maintain its garbage and recycling collection services as Hurricane Milton approaches. Collection services will continue on Monday, October 7, 2024. However, SWEEP and Yard Waste services remain suspended following the impact of Hurricane Helene and the impending arrival of Hurricane Milton.

The McKay Bay Transfer Station has extended its operating hours from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. to assist Tampa residents and businesses dealing with debris from Hurricane Helene. The station will remain open until a closure announcement is made due to Hurricane Milton.

Residents and businesses are encouraged to utilize the McKay Bay Transfer Station for hurricane-related debris disposal. Residential Solid Waste account holders within Tampa city limits can dispose of selected items at no extra charge.

For details on accepted items and disposal requirements, residents can visit tampa.gov/solidwaste.

Customers are advised to download the Tampa Trash and Recycling app available on Apple and Google Play Stores for real-time updates on service schedules. For inquiries or concerns, customers can contact the City of Tampa Utilities Call Center at (813) 274-8811 or visit tampa.gov/solidwaste.

New Tampa residents should reach out to Hillsborough County Solid Waste Management at (813) 272-5680 for their storm debris collection schedule.
