Tampa residents and business owners affected by recent hurricanes are encouraged to apply for FEMA assistance promptly. Homeowners and renters in Hillsborough County, along with other nearby counties, can seek disaster aid. This support includes home and business repairs, temporary housing, financial help due to displacement, personal property losses, and coverage for other uninsured or underinsured disaster-related expenses.
Applications can be submitted through DisasterAssistance.gov, the FEMA App, or by calling (800) 621-3362. The deadline for applications is November 27, 2024. "To date, FEMA has approved more than $8 million to Helene victims."
For those preferring in-person interactions with a FEMA representative, the City of Tampa’s Comfort Station at DeSoto Park (2617 Corrine Street) is available from 7:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M. Here, residents also have access to free laundry services, food, water, and charging stations.
Additional Comfort Stations without on-site FEMA representatives include Marjorie Park (97 Columbia Drive) and Gandy Civic Association (4207 W Oklahoma Avenue).
