A man from Oviedo, Marvin Fredrick Wagner II, has been indicted on charges related to child sexual abuse material (CSAM). United States Attorney Roger B. Handberg announced that Wagner, aged 25, faces one count of attempted production of CSAM and one count of receipt of CSAM. If convicted, he could face a minimum sentence of 15 years in federal prison for the attempted production charge and at least five years for the receipt charge.

The indictment specifies that the alleged attempted production occurred between June 23 and October 11, 2023. Wagner is also accused of receiving CSAM on October 11, 2023.

An indictment is a formal accusation that someone has violated federal criminal law. It is important to note that every defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Oviedo Police Department conducted the investigation. Assistant United States Attorney Kaley Austin-Aronson will prosecute the case.

This case is part of Project Safe Childhood, an initiative started by the Department of Justice in 2006 to address child sexual exploitation and abuse. The program coordinates efforts at various governmental levels to prosecute offenders and rescue victims. More information about this initiative can be found at www.justice.gov/psc.
