The installation schedule is as follows:
- Monday, October 7: North Tampa, 8 am - 2 pm
- Tuesday, October 8: East Tampa, 8 am - 2 pm
- Wednesday, October 9: South Tampa, 8 am - 2 pm
- Thursday, October 10: West Tampa, 8 am - 2 pm
Residents must register before October 1, 2024.
"We are committed to promoting fire safety year-round, and Fire Prevention Week provides a focused opportunity to engage with our community," said Fire Chief Barbara Tripp. "By working together, we can make our community safer for everyone in Tampa."
Mayor Jane Castor added, "As a community, our greatest responsibility is to protect one another. Making sure all of our Tampa residents have properly functioning smoke alarms is a crucial reminder of the simple steps we can take to keep our homes and loved ones safe."
Throughout the week, Tampa Fire Rescue will also conduct community events and school programs focused on fire safety education.
