Have you heard of Tampa's Soulwalk? Soulwalk is an arts and heritage “trail" that tells the rich history of Tampa's Black communities. Spanning 46 miles and 25 neighborhoods, Soulwalk includes nearly 100 stops including historic landmarks, public art installations, museums, cemeteries, and more.
This landmark is the St James Episcopal Church, which was founded in 1891 by mostly Bahamian and Afro-Cuban cigar workers who moved to Ybor City from Key West in the late 1880s. The current church building was constructed in 1921 and is now a historic landmark.
