Nauris Tamulevicius, associate professor of health sciences and human performance, has been studying migraines since 2017

The University of Tampa issued the following announcement on July 26.

Along with help from students and other faculty members, Nauris Tamulevicius, associate professor of health sciences and human performance, has been studying migraines since 2017. Some of his findings:

• 15-26% of students have migraines and about two-thirds are women

• The top three triggers (in order) are: stress, lack of sleep and skipping meals

• 57% say the migraines severally impact their daily activities

• Migraine sufferers who exercise regularly don’t have migraines in the 24 hours after they work out.
