The Tampa Convention Center is set to host Varsity Spirit’s end-of-season cheerleading competitions from April 24 to April 27, 2025. The events, namely The Youth Summit, The Recreational Summit, and The Varsity All Star Celebration, are expected to increase both vehicle and pedestrian traffic in the area.

In particular, traffic is likely to be heavy along Franklin Street, where Tampa Police officers will be positioned to aid in managing the flow. Authorities advise drivers to anticipate congestion, exercise patience, and consider avoiding the area, especially on April 24 and April 26, when traffic demands are projected to be highest.

The cheerleading events are expected to draw thousands of young athletes from across the United States to Downtown Tampa. This year’s competitions are anticipated to reach record attendance numbers.

Visit Tampa Bay has projected the event’s economic impact to reach approximately $3,423,000 for the Tampa area.
