The University of South Florida men’s basketball team is set to host the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) on Wednesday night as part of American Conference play. The game will take place at 7 p.m. ET in Tampa.

During halftime, South Florida will honor the legacy of Arthur Jones on court. The event also coincides with Student Appreciation Night, where the first 150 students entering through Gate D will receive a $10 concessions voucher.

Comparing both programs, South Florida currently holds a KenPom rating of 67, BPI of 67, and NET ranking of 62. In contrast, UTSA enters with lower ratings: KenPom at 346, BPI at 316, and NET ranking at 352. South Florida leads the American Athletic Conference in several categories including points per game (89.5), combined team rebounds per game (43.1), offensive rebounds (15.4), and assists (17.5). UTSA ranks No. 13 in the conference for points per game with an average of 68.2.

This matchup marks the third all-time meeting between South Florida and UTSA. Their previous encounter was on February 19, 2025, when South Florida won by a score of 78-73 at the Liacouras Center.

South Florida returns home following a two-game road trip that included a significant win over Tulane and a close one-point loss to Temple.

Tickets for single games and season packages are available by calling 1-800-Go-Bulls or visiting USFBullsTix.com. Season ticket members who cannot attend have options to transfer their tickets to others or donate them to fans in need via online instructions.

Bryan Hodgson is in his first season as head coach after being named to the position on March 24, 2025. Previously at Arkansas State, Hodgson led that program to consecutive seasons with over twenty wins and its first postseason appearance since 1999 during his tenure.

Now in its 55th season for the year 2025-26, South Florida men’s basketball most recently claimed the American Athletic Conference regular season championship in the previous year and has made thirteen postseason appearances overall—including three NCAA Tournaments and nine NITs—alongside winning a CBI championship in 2019. Three former players—Chucky Atkins, Charlie Bradley, and Rodenko Dobras—have had their jerseys retired and are members of the USF Athletic Hall of Fame. The Bulls play their home games at Yuengling Center on campus.

“South Florida men’s basketball named Bryan Hodgson, 37, as the program’s 12th head coach on March 24, 2025,” according to information from USF Athletics Communications.
