Tampa revises trash services for Juneteenth observance

The City of Tampa has announced changes to its trash collection services in observance of Juneteenth. City offices will be closed on Thursday, June 19, 2025.

For residential customers, there will be no trash collection on Juneteenth. Regular service schedules will resume the following day, Friday, June 20, 2025. Commercial customers will also experience a halt in collection services on Juneteenth but can expect regular commercial collection services to take place as usual.

The McKay Bay Transfer Station and Scale House at 114 S. 34th St. will not operate on Juneteenth and is set to reopen on Friday, June 20, 2025.

Residents seeking personalized schedules are encouraged to download the Tampa Trash and Recycling app available on both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

For any inquiries or concerns regarding the schedule changes, residents can contact the City of Tampa Utilities Call Center at (813) 274-8811 or visit their website at www.tampa.gov/solidwaste.

Additionally, New Tampa residents should reach out to Hillsborough County Solid Waste Management at (813) 272-5680 for information about their specific collection schedule.
