Drivers in Tampa should brace for heavy traffic this weekend due to overlapping events at two major venues. From Friday, June 6 through Sunday, June 8, congestion is expected around Steinbrenner Field and Raymond James Stadium as fans of the Tampa Bay Rays and Metallica converge on the area.

The Tampa Bay Rays will face off against the Marlins on Friday at 1:10 PM. Later that day, Metallica’s M72 World Tour will commence at Raymond James Stadium with a performance starting at 6:00 PM. Traffic is anticipated to be particularly heavy as baseball attendees leave and concertgoers arrive.

On Saturday, there are no scheduled concerts, allowing for a temporary reprieve from the traffic buildup.

However, similar conditions are expected again on Sunday when the Rays play another game starting at 12:10 PM and Metallica returns for another concert at 6:00 PM.

A significant law enforcement presence will be in place to manage traffic during both event days. Authorities advise drivers to exercise caution near these venues and adhere to all posted signs.
