Tampa Police are investigating two separate traffic incidents involving pedestrians that occurred early on Saturday, July 19, 2025.

The first incident happened around 12:40 am at the intersection of E. 7th Ave. and Angel Oliva Senior St. A 2022 Can Am Ryker struck two pedestrians, an adult male and female in their late 30s, who were near a marked crosswalk. The vehicle continued eastbound, hitting a parked car and then another stopped vehicle.

The driver of the three-wheel vehicle, a woman in her early-40s, sustained serious injuries. Her passenger, a woman in her mid-20s, and both pedestrians also suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries. All were taken to the hospital for treatment.

Detectives have not found signs of impairment at the scene but suspect the driver may have experienced a medical episode before the crash.

Later that morning, just after 5:00 AM, police responded to another incident at a Wawa convenience store parking lot located at N. 50th St. and E. Columbus Dr., where an adult male pedestrian was found deceased.

Preliminary findings suggest the pedestrian either laid down or collapsed near the rear wheels of a parked box truck and was struck as the unaware driver moved the truck.

The box truck driver is cooperating with investigators and showed no signs of impairment.

The Tampa Police Department expressed condolences to those affected by these incidents and hopes for quick recoveries for those injured.

Investigations are ongoing with further updates to be provided as available.
