The Tampa Police Department is currently investigating a fatal shooting that took place early on Sunday morning, June 22, 2025. According to the department, officers responded to a 911 call at approximately 3:20 am from a man who reported he had shot another individual, citing fear for his safety.

Upon arrival at W. Carmen St, just west of N. Oregon Ave, police found the caller, described as a black male in his early 30s, still armed. Nearby at W. Gray St and N. Oregon Ave, officers discovered an adult black male in his late 40s with gunshot wounds next to the caller’s vehicle.
