Tampa police investigate early morning shooting on East 7th Avenue

Tampa Police are investigating a shooting that took place early Saturday morning on East 7th Avenue. Officers who were directing traffic in Ybor heard a gunshot just before 3:00 am and quickly responded to the scene. They found an adult male victim who had been shot and transported him to the hospital, where he is currently in stable condition.

The initial investigation suggests that the victim and the suspect, both adult males known to each other, were involved in an altercation before the shooting occurred. Authorities have stated there is no threat to the community.

Investigators are examining available video footage related to the incident and are pursuing strong leads. The investigation remains active, with further updates to be provided as they become available.
