Tampa police classify Whittier St. shooting as homicide after victim’s death

The Tampa Police Department is investigating a shooting incident on Whittier St. as a homicide following the death of a man critically injured in the attack. The victim, in his early 30s, died on Tuesday, July 22. While his family has been informed, authorities are withholding his identity as they work to uncover the circumstances surrounding his death.

Detectives are actively gathering evidence and pursuing leads in this ongoing investigation. They are requesting local residents to check any security footage from the vicinity of the 3600 block of Whittier St. between 5:45 am and 6:15 am on Sunday, July 20. Any recordings could prove essential in identifying those responsible.
