Tampa Police arrest suspect in shooting on North Marion Street

Tampa Police announced on April 18 the arrest of a man in connection with a shooting that occurred at the 1200-block of North Marion Street. Eric Gaddis, born March 23, 1985, faces two counts of attempted murder in the second degree and one count of resisting an officer without violence.

The incident took place on April 17 when officers responded to reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, police found two adult males suffering from gunshot wounds. Both victims were transported to a hospital; one has since been released while the other remains in critical condition.

While securing the scene, officers observed an individual running away who matched the suspect description. The person was detained and later identified as Gaddis. According to investigators, Gaddis told them he shot both men because he felt threatened. The investigation is ongoing.
