The Tampa Police Department, in collaboration with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE), has arrested Jose Guerrero, Jr., a 25-year-old suspect, on charges related to child pornography. Guerrero faces 100 counts of possession following an investigation initiated by a cyber-tip report.

The investigation began on February 20, 2025, when the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) alerted authorities about suspected child pornography activities between November 2024 and January 2025. The Tampa Police Internet Crimes Against Children Unit worked alongside the FDLE Cyber Crimes Unit to confirm the presence of illegal content and identify Guerrero as the suspect.

A search warrant executed at Guerrero’s residence at 6611 N. 50th St led to his arrest on May 28, 2025. He was subsequently charged and taken to Orient Road Jail.

“The seriousness of this crime cannot be overstated; it represents the brutal harming and exploitation of children,” said Chief Lee Bercaw. “Let this arrest serve as a powerful warning to those who choose to possess and distribute child pornography – you will be relentlessly pursued and held accountable for your heinous actions.”

Mark Brutnell, FDLE Tampa Bay Special Agent in Charge, emphasized the importance of inter-agency cooperation: “Our partnerships with law enforcement agencies such as the Tampa Police Department are crucial in bringing these vile crimes to a stop and bringing the offenders to justice.”

Authorities urge anyone with information about child exploitation to report it immediately to NCMEC or local law enforcement agencies.
