The City of Tampa’s Parking Division has achieved recognition at a national level by earning the Accredited Parking Organization (APO) status. This places it among the top organizations in the parking and mobility industry. The APO designation is awarded to organizations that exemplify best practices in areas such as responsible parking management, customer service, sustainability, safety, and data security.

Shawn Conrad, CAE, CEO of the International Parking & Mobility Institute (IPMI), stated: “It’s quite an achievement, which follows a lengthy and arduous review process.” The IPMI sets the standards for APO Accreditation and Accreditation with Distinction to ensure professionalism and competency in parking and mobility management.

To obtain this accreditation, organizations must demonstrate commitment to continuous improvement by adopting industry best practices. They work with third-party reviewers to provide evidence of meeting over 100 criteria across 14 categories, along with 25 required criteria. At least one facility must be evaluated according to the standards set by the APO Board of Directors.

Conrad added: “Parking at an accredited facility or operation assures the public that the organization adheres to a strict code of ethics and meets national and internationally endorsed standards for professionalism, accountability, responsibility, and performance.”

This recognition highlights the City of Tampa Parking Division’s dedication to excellence in its field. It becomes one of only four organizations in Florida to achieve this accreditation. The success is attributed to the hard work of the entire team led by Parking Division Manager Fed Revolte.

Revolte expressed pride in their accomplishment: “Providing top-tier service and operations across our many different facilities, combined with our team’s commitment to providing efficient, sustainable, and customer-focused parking services has been instrumental in achieving this prestigious accreditation,” he said. He also mentioned aspirations for obtaining a higher accreditation tier soon.

The formal reception of this designation will take place at the IPMI conference scheduled for June in Louisville, Kentucky.
