Tampa Convention Center will begin upgrading its marquee sign at the Franklin Street entrance starting January 19. The project, in partnership with digital signage provider Xpodigital, involves installing a new full LED display on both sides of the entrance.
The center stated, “This modern upgrade will bring a more dynamic, high-impact presence to one of our most visible entrances and better showcase the energy of events happening inside the Center.”
To ensure safety during installation, the sidewalk along Franklin Street next to the entrance will be closed daily from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. until January 25. The sidewalk will reopen each evening after work hours. The Franklin Street entrance itself will remain open and accessible.
Pedestrians are advised they can bypass the closed area by walking through the Tampa Convention Center as a pass-through, using stairs as an alternate route, or utilizing nearby Franklin Street crosswalks for ADA and scooter access.
The convention center added, “We appreciate the community’s patience as we work with Xpodigital to complete this exciting improvement and look forward to unveiling a new marquee that reflects the innovation, vibrancy, and momentum of downtown Tampa.”
