On Friday, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers held a virtual interview with Brian Callahan for their open offensive coordinator position.

Callahan was most recently the head coach of the Tennessee Titans from 2024 to 2025. He has 18 years of coaching experience, including 14 in the NFL. Before his time with the Titans, he spent five seasons (2019-2023) as the offensive coordinator for the Cincinnati Bengals.

While in Cincinnati, Callahan worked under head coach Zac Taylor and contributed to two AFC North titles, two appearances in the AFC Championship game, and a trip to the Super Bowl. He also played a role in developing quarterback Joe Burrow from being drafted first overall in 2020 to achieving multiple franchise records by his second year and earning Pro Bowl recognition within three years.

Between 2021 and 2023, before joining Tennessee, Callahan’s offense with the Bengals ranked among the league’s top ten in several categories: sixth in scoring (24.9 points per game), seventh in passing yards (250.8 per game), seventh in red zone efficiency (61.5 percent), tenth on third-down conversions (41 percent), and sixth in time of possession (31 minutes per game).

From Burrow’s entry into the NFL through 2023, he posted a passer rating that ranked seventh league-wide (98.6) and tied for third-best completion percentage at 68 percent. His average of 270.8 passing yards per game during that period was fifth highest.
