The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have introduced AmberBox Gunshot Detection technology at the AdventHealth Training Center as part of their latest security enhancements. The team stated that this move is one of several measures aimed at improving safety for players, coaches, staff, and visitors at their headquarters.
“AmberBox’s innovative detection technology is one of many security enhancements we have instituted to minimize threats and ensure the safety of our players, coaches and staff at our team headquarters,” said Buccaneers Chief Operating Officer Brian Ford. “AmberBox has established itself as an industry leader in gunshot detection, and its integrated alert system adds another layer of protection that improves our ability to respond quickly in the unlikely event of an active threat.”
The AmberBox system automates emergency alerts during active threat situations by providing immediate and precise information to both internal personnel and law enforcement. It uses a combination of acoustic sensors, infrared data, and machine learning algorithms to accurately identify firearm discharges while reducing false alarms. This real-time data connects all key security members through a single platform.
James Popper, CEO of AmberBox, commented on the partnership: “We are proud to partner with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to bring gunshot detection technology to the team. Every second counts in an emergency, and the AmberBox system dramatically lowers average police notification from 5 minutes to 3.6 seconds. This deployment reflects the Buccaneers leadership in prioritizing safety and ensures players, coaches, staff, and fans can train and gather with greater peace of mind.”
By integrating this technology into its security protocols, the team aims to reduce human error in emergency situations while streamlining both alert processes and response times.
