The City of Tampa has announced changes to its trash collection schedule in observance of Independence Day. On Friday, July 4, 2025, city offices will be closed, and adjustments will be made to the usual garbage collection services.

For residential customers who typically receive service on Fridays, there will be no garbage, recycling, or yard waste collection on that day. There is no make-up day planned for these customers; instead, trash collection will resume on the next scheduled service day. Normal residential service schedules are set to continue from Monday, July 7, 2025.

Commercial customers expecting service on Friday will also experience a change. No collections will occur on July 4th; however, services will restart with a one-day delay beginning Saturday, July 5th through Saturday, July 12th. Regular commercial collection services are expected to resume as normal starting Monday, July 7th.

Additionally, the McKay Bay Transfer Station and Scale House at 114 S. 34th St. will not operate on Independence Day but is scheduled to reopen with standard hours on Saturday.

Residents seeking personalized schedules can download the Tampa Trash and Recycling app available in both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

For further inquiries or concerns regarding this schedule change, residents are encouraged to contact the City of Tampa Utilities Call Center at (813) 274-8811 or visit www.tampa.gov/solidwaste for more information.

Residents of New Tampa should reach out directly to Hillsborough County Solid Waste Management at (813) 272-5680 for their specific collection schedule details.
