Congresswoman Laurel Lee, who has been representing Florida's 15th district since 2023, recently took to social media to express her views on several issues. The congresswoman addressed concerns regarding political bias in federal aid distribution, safety for prison staff, and ways for constituents to stay informed about her work.

On November 17, 2024, Congresswoman Laurel Lee shared her concerns about potential political bias affecting the Federal Emergency Management Agency's (FEMA) assistance in Florida following Hurricane Milton. She stated: "It is inconceivable that political bias influenced who FEMA assisted in Florida after Hurricane Milton because of pro-Trump signs displayed at homes." Lee emphasized that all homeowners should receive assistance irrespective of their political beliefs.

The following day, on November 18, 2024, Congresswoman Lee highlighted a pressing issue within the Bureau of Prisons. She tweeted: "Nearly half of Bureau of Prisons staff reported experiencing sexual harassment or assault at the hands of inmates. This is unacceptable." To address this issue, she announced the introduction of the Prison Staff Safety Enhancement Act alongside Representative Hank Johnson.

Later on November 18, 2024, Congresswoman Lee encouraged constituents to subscribe to her weekly e-newsletter. She wrote: "✉️ Have you signed up to receive my weekly e-newsletter yet? Stay up to date on important information and learn more about my work for Florida’s 15th District." This initiative aims to keep residents informed about legislative activities and developments in their district.
