The City of Tampa is set to open three new FEMA assistance centers on October 23 to aid residents affected by recent hurricanes. These centers will offer computer access and help for those needing to submit FEMA applications online, particularly benefiting individuals without internet access or who require guidance with the application process.
The additional centers are strategically placed throughout Tampa to ensure accessibility for all city areas. They will operate from Monday through Saturday, between 8 AM and 12 PM, with potential for extended hours based on demand. However, it is important to note that no FEMA representatives will be present at these locations; only City of Tampa staff will be available to provide general assistance and computer access.
The new Computer Access Centers are located at:
- Copeland Park Center (North), 11001 N. 15th Street, Tampa, FL 33614
- Port Tampa Center (South), 4702 W McCoy St, Tampa, FL 33616
- Cyrus Greene Center (East), 2101 E. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd, Tampa, FL 33610
- Cordelia B. Hunt Center (West), 4810 N. Himes Avenue, Tampa, FL 33614
Residents planning to apply online must bring specific information including their damaged home's address, household members' names, a description of disaster damages, insurance details, Social Security Number, contact telephone number or message service option, bank account information, and an email address.
The City of Tampa emphasizes its commitment to accessibility for all residents under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Those requiring assistance or accommodations can reach out to the City of Tampa ADA Coordinator at (813) 274-3964 or via email at TampaADA@tampagov.net.
