City of Tampa Utilities has announced a temporary change in the billing process for customers due to disruptions caused by Hurricane Milton. The debris from the hurricane is preventing utility staff from reading water meters accurately. In response, utility bills will be estimated based on average daily usage over the past year until normal meter readings can resume.

Once conditions allow for regular meter readings, actual consumption will be reconciled against the estimated bills. During this period, no late fees will be charged on any billed amounts. City of Tampa Utilities plans to provide updates when normal operations can continue.

For inquiries, customers are encouraged to contact the Utilities Call Center at (813) 274-8811 during business hours from Monday to Friday.
