The Tampa Police Department held its final Hurricane Deployment Roll Call today, marking the end of its hurricane deployment and a return to standard operations. The event recognized the service of officers and staff during recent storms.

Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody, Mayor Jane Castor, and Darcie Glazer Kassewitz, Owner and Chairman of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Foundation and Glazer Vision Foundation, joined Chief Lee Bercaw at the event. They commended the department for its efforts during back-to-back hurricane deployments.

“This public roll call officially ending our hurricane deployment is an opportunity to express our gratitude to all those who faithfully served the community during Hurricanes Helene and Milton,” said Chief Bercaw. “Their commitment to public safety made a positive difference in our preparation, response, and recovery efforts. While we have seen significant progress, we know many are still recovering from the storms. We remain committed to providing ongoing assistance, supporting those affected, and continuing our work of making Tampa safer, together.”

Colony Grill provided fresh pizza as a gesture of appreciation for the officers and staff who worked through both hurricanes.
