The Parks and Recreation Department is set to host a day camp titled "School’s Out, Camp’s In" for children at 20 recreation centers. This event will take place on Tuesday, October 15, from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., offering free supervision, entertainment, and meals for all attendees.

"Many Tampa parents are returning to work, but schools are not yet ready to reopen," stated Parks and Recreation Director Tony Mulkey. "It’s a challenge, and we hope that providing this ‘School’s Out, Camp’s In’ session will help support families."

Classes are also scheduled to resume at Wayne Papy and New Tampa Recreation Center on the same day.

The program will be held at several facilities across Tampa Parks and Recreation locations including Benito, Copeland, Cyrus Greene, Fair Oaks, George Bartholomew, Grant, Gwen Miller among others. Five sites remain closed with alternative recommended facilities provided: DeSoto (Cyrus Greene), Forest Hills (Copeland), Friendship (Kate Jackson), Kwane Doster (Port Tampa), Wellswood (MLK).

For more information about the camp or other inquiries, individuals can call (813) 274-5132. Participation does not require a Parks & Recreation Rec card.

Contact details for further questions include an address at 306 East Jackson Street in Tampa or by calling (813) 274-8211.
