Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Laurel Lee (R-FL) issued a statement following President Biden's recent immigration Executive Order.

"Since day one of this administration, President Biden and Secretary Mayorkas have repeatedly taken actions to make our border less secure and our nation less safe. After three and a half years and more than 9.6 million illegal migrants, illicit drugs, and known terrorists entering our country, Americans are rightly outraged as communities across the country have been affected by this crisis," said Lee.

She further criticized the timing of the executive order: "Only now, as the crisis he created starts to impact his re-election campaign, is President Biden willing to act, but it’s too little, too late. Unfortunately, this weak executive order doesn’t repair the damage that has been done."

Lee urged for more substantial measures: "If President Biden is serious about addressing this crisis, and not just scoring political points, he should support House Republicans’ Secure the Border Act which will fix the dangerous policies that have created this crisis."
