The University of South Florida women’s basketball team will face East Carolina University on Wednesday, February 4, in an American Athletic Conference matchup. The game is scheduled for 2 p.m. and will be broadcast on ESPN+. USF enters the contest with a record of 13-9 overall and 6-3 in conference play, placing them fourth in the standings. East Carolina holds a 16-7 overall record and is second in the conference at 8-2.

USF comes into this game after a recent overtime win against Charlotte, with a final score of 66-60. East Carolina also defeated Charlotte in its last outing, winning 67-61.

This meeting marks the 25th time the Bulls and Pirates have faced each other. USF leads the all-time series with a record of 16 wins to ECU’s eight. However, ECU won their most recent matchup last season in Tampa by a score of 66-57. In games played at Greenville, USF has won seven out of ten contests.

Several players have contributed significantly to USF’s performance this season. Stefanie Ingram leads the team with 122 assists and averages 10.1 points per game, making her one of only three players in the American Conference to average at least ten points and five assists per game this season. She joins Charlotte’s Tanajah Hayes and UTSA’s Ereauna Hardaway in this achievement. Ingram is also among seven Division I players nationwide who have accumulated at least 200 points, 115 assists, and made twenty three-pointers so far this season.

Edyn Battle leads USF in scoring with an average of 14.8 points per game along with contributions in assists (54), steals (10), blocks (1), and rebounds (3.1). Katie Davidson is second on the team averaging 11.9 points per game; she has made thirty three-point shots this season, tying for tenth place among conference players.

Fatou Diakite has come off the bench to register at least ten points and five rebounds in five games—a feat not matched by any USF player since Courtney Williams during the 2013–14 season.

USF currently leads the American Conference in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.01), assists per game (15.8), and field goal percentage (44%). Ten different Bulls have scored double-digit points during games this year—tied for most within their conference alongside Charlotte—and surpassing last year’s total.

The Bulls’ roster combines for a total of 951 career Division I appearances—the highest number among teams within their conference and tenth nationally across all Division I programs. Upperclassmen account for more than eighty-eight percent of USF’s assists this season; only Wichita State has relied more heavily on experienced players within their league.

Since the start of the century, South Florida remains undefeated when scoring ninety or more points—posting forty-seven consecutive wins under those circumstances—and ranks among twelve Division I teams with at least forty-five such victories over that span.

Michele Woods-Baxter serves as interim head coach for South Florida women’s basketball following years marked by consistent postseason appearances—including nineteen tournament berths over twenty-five seasons—as well as achievements like two WNIT Final Four runs and capturing the WNIT championship title during the 2008–09 campaign.
