The University of South Florida announced on April 7 that its scheduled baseball game against Florida Gulf Coast University has been canceled because of inclement weather and poor field conditions.
The matchup was set for a 6:00 p.m. first pitch but will not be rescheduled, meaning there will be no home game against FGCU this season.
According to the university, fans interested in tickets for the remainder of the 2026 Bulls baseball season can find more information online. The university also encourages supporters to follow USF Baseball news through its social media channels.
The South Florida Bulls baseball program is in its 61st season as a member of the American Conference. Head coach Mitch Hannahs is leading the team in his second year after guiding them to their highest win total since 2018 and their best conference record since joining the league last year. The program has made 14 NCAA Tournament appearances, including a Super Regional run in 2021, and has produced numerous Major League Baseball draft picks and award-winning players over its history.
No makeup date has been announced for this canceled contest.
