Road closures announced for MLK Jr Parade in East Tampa on January 19

The City of Tampa will hold its annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Parade on Monday, January 19. The event will start at noon at the intersection of E. 21st Avenue and N. 15th Street and conclude at N. 22nd Street and E. Osborne Avenue.

The parade route passes through East Tampa neighborhoods, with several road closures scheduled to accommodate the event. Affected roads include:

– N. 15th Street between E. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard and E. 17th Avenue
– N. Avenue Republica De Cuba/N 14th Street between E 21st Avenue and E. 17th Avenue
– E. 21st Avenue between N. 11th Street and N 21st Street
– E. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard between N Nebraska Avenue and N. 22nd Street
– N. 22nd Street between E. Hillsborough Avenue and E. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard

All closures will be in effect from 6:00 a.m to 6:00 p.m.

Residents are encouraged to plan ahead for possible delays or detours during these hours.
