Pedestrian fatality leads to arrest for DUI in Tampa

On May 10, 2025, at approximately 4:19 a.m., police officers responded to a vehicle versus pedestrian crash at the intersection of N. Nebraska Ave and E. Robson St. Upon their arrival, they found an adult male pedestrian deceased at the scene.

Investigators reported that a 2019 Hyundai Elantra, driven by Armahnee Edwards, aged 23, was traveling northbound on N. Nebraska Ave when the pedestrian entered its path. At the scene, Edwards exhibited signs of impairment.

Edwards was subsequently arrested and charged with one misdemeanor count of driving under the influence with property damage or personal injury and one felony count of driving while license canceled, suspended, or revoked (death or serious bodily injury).

The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
