Lightning to host playoff banner drop with City of Tampa

The City of Tampa, in collaboration with the Lightning team, is set to host a banner drop event to celebrate the start of the playoffs. This event, aimed at energizing fans, will occur outside Old City Hall on Wednesday, April 16.

Members of the public and media are welcome to participate in the kickoff. The event will feature appearances by ThunderBug, the team’s mascot, energetic performances by the Blue Crew, Lightning Alumni, team executives, Mayor Jane Castor, and other City staff.

This marks the eighth consecutive season for the team heading into the playoffs. The banner drop will be held at the corner of E Jackson St and N Florida Ave in downtown Tampa at 11:30 am.
