Congresswoman Laurel Lee, representing Florida’s 15th district, used social media to communicate her views on energy, artificial intelligence, and organized retail crime on May 1, 2025. Her statements reflect her legislative priorities and provide an insight into her policy positions.

In her first post of the day, Congresswoman Lee emphasized the importance of investing in energy to support the nation’s future. On May 1st at 16:16 UTC, she stated, “When we invest in American energy, we invest in America’s future.”

Later that day, Lee expressed her perspective on artificial intelligence and its capabilities. At 18:12 UTC, she tweeted, “Artificial Intelligence has the power to transform lives, from bolstering the workforce to driving exponential growth across every sector. In Congress, I’m working to ensure we have responsible guardrails in place to support the innovation of this technology without restricting.”

Concluding her series of tweets on May 1st, Congresswoman Lee announced her support for the Combating Organized Retail Crime Act. She posted at 20:11 UTC, “I am proud to support the Combating Organized Retail Crime Act to fight back against organized retail and supply chain crime and protect communities, businesses, and consumers across the nation. It is vital that we support business owners and safeguard our communities.”

Laurel Lee, born in 1974 in Cleveland, Ohio, has been serving the U.S. Congress since 2023, following her tenure in the Florida House of Representatives. She lives in Tampa, Florida, and has a law degree from the University of Florida.
