U.S. Representative Kathy Castor, serving Florida’s 14th district since 2007, recently shared her thoughts on various topics via Twitter. Castor, who resides in Tampa, was born in Miami and has a background in law with degrees from Emory University and Florida State University.

On April 16, 2025, Rep. Castor issued a statement on Kilmar Abrego Garcia, though further details regarding the content of this statement were not disclosed in the tweet.

The following day, on April 17, 2025, she expressed her support for Florida State University, stating, “I love FSU, the students, faculty and the entire community. I that everyone is ok and for the brave first responders rushing to help.” This reflects her connection to the academic community and concern for their well-being.

Later that day, Castor tweeted a strong opinion regarding Social Security, quoting one of her neighbors, “I would be screwed without Social Security.” She added, “My neighbors are telling Elon Musk and Donald Trump loud and clear: hands off our benefits we have earned and deserve. These billionaires need to get a grip.”

Kathy Castor has been an active member of Congress for nearly two decades, having replaced Jim Davis in 2007. She leverages her experience and legal education to advocate for issues important to her constituents.
