U.S. Rep. Kathy Castor, currently representing Florida’s 14th district in Congress, has used her social media platform to highlight recent legislative achievements, criticize energy pricing in Florida, and promote federal investment in regional infrastructure.
On April 7, 2026, Castor posted about the signing of her bipartisan maternal health bill into law: “Having my bipartisan Preventing Maternal Deaths Reauthorization Act signed into law is a huge win for moms, babies, and health care providers in Tampa Bay. Today, I heard from moms, health care professionals at @TGHCares Genesis Women’s Center, and community partners at https://t.co/5wX1YZXtTf”.
The following day, April 8, she addressed concerns over rising utility costs and corporate profits: “Electric bills are sky high, and people are being ripped off: ‘The deal granted Florida Power & Light among the highest rates of shareholder profit in the nation’ https://t.co/TaFt5cIa34”.
On April 9, Castor turned her attention to economic development initiatives related to Port Tampa Bay: “Port Tampa Bay is Florida’s largest, most dynamic port—an economic engine for our state and region. I’m proud of my partnership with @PortTampaBay and to deliver a significant federal investment that will help expand our economy and keep our neighbors thriving. https://t.co/f9vBYcwzlb”.
