U.S. Representative Kathy Castor, who has served Florida’s 14th District since 2007, expressed her commitments and concerns through a series of recent social media posts. Born in Miami and a resident of Tampa, Castor graduated from Emory University and Florida State University. She succeeded Jim Davis in Congress following her previous tenure in the Florida House of Representatives.

On April 4, 2025, Castor assured her constituents of her dedication, stating, “You can count on me to protect your access to healthy, affordable food for you and your loved ones! “

On April 7, 2025, Castor addressed the challenges facing the Tampa Bay Area in the aftermath of significant hurricanes. She noted, “The Tampa Bay Area is still building back after Hurricanes Helene and Milton. Congressional Republicans cancelled $45.66 million in federal funding that was coming directly back to our neighborhoods to help us rebuild and make our storm response systems stronger. It is costly”
