U.S. Representative Kathy Castor, who has been serving Florida’s 14th district in Congress since 2007, took to social media on April 28 and 29, 2025, to express her views on recent developments concerning immigration policies under the Trump Administration and her continued advocacy for the Sánchez-Valle family.
In a tweet dated April 28, 2025, Castor emphasized her office’s ongoing efforts to assist the Sánchez-Valle family. She stated, “My office is in contact with the Sánchez-Valle family and is doing everything in our power to reunite this family. The Trump Administration is shameful and a disgrace to our global leadership.”
Later that day, Castor condemned the deportation of a member of the Sánchez-Valle family. Her tweet read, “The deportation of Ms. Sánchez is unlawful and inhumane. I will not stop fighting to reunite her with her family, including her nursing infant that she was ripped away from.”
On the following day, April 29, 2025, Castor reflected on the 100 days of Donald Trump’s presidency. She tweeted, “Mood for Trump’s 100 days in office and House Republicans lack of accountability.”
Kathy Castor’s advocacy has been consistent since her tenure began in 2007, where she has built on her previous experience in the Florida House of Representatives. A Miami native, Castor graduated from Emory University and earned a JD from Florida State University. She resides in Tampa.
