U.S. Rep. Kathy Castor has made several notable statements on her social media platform addressing significant issues, continuing her advocacy as a representative of Florida’s 14th district. Since succeeding Jim Davis in 2007, she has addressed both local and national topics with her distinct political perspective.

On April 25, 2025, Castor released her statement regarding “Illegal Deportations in Tampa Bay.” The post indicates her attention to immigration matters within her constituency, highlighting ongoing regional concerns.

Later that day, she addressed broader national issues, noting how “Authoritarianism is on the rise and the vast majority of Americans reject it.” She criticized the previous Trump administration for its actions concerning judges and discussed the social and economic impacts associated with these decisions. These include “instability, incompetence and cronyism,” which she describes as costly.

Lastly, she referenced an urgent matter with a brief link to additional information, maintaining her position on heightened surveillance of political developments pertinent to her roles as a legislator.

Kathy Castor, a seasoned politician, has been committed to national and regional issues throughout her extensive career. Born in Miami in 1966, she has spent decades in public service after obtaining degrees from Emory and Florida State University. Her sustained advocacy reflects her ties to her community in Tampa.
