U.S. Rep. Kathy Castor, who has represented Florida’s 14th district in Congress since 2007, recently posted a series of statements on social media addressing actions by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), and former President Donald Trump.
On February 12, 2026, Castor wrote: “Renee Good and Alex Pretti were killed by ICE agents in cold blood, and Department of Homeland Security Kristi Noem must resign or be fired.
Tune in now to hear how House Democrats are holding DHS and ICE accountable.

Later that day, she criticized former President Trump’s environmental record: “Trump has cemented his legacy as the most pro-polluter, anti-health President in history.
The EPA is supposed to protect our families and our environment, but they rely on misleading Department of Energy reports that cherry-picks data to support the Republican, pro-polluter” (February 12, 2026).
In a follow-up post regarding environmental policy decisions under the Trump administration, Castor stated: “My statement on President Trump’s decision to rescind the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Clean Air Act “Endangerment Finding,” which requires the EPA to protect people from pollution that drives extreme weather and its costly, dangerous impacts under the Clean Air Act: https://t.co/Wi5fNVVA95” (February 12, 2026).
Castor has served in Congress since replacing Jim Davis in 2007. She previously held office in the Florida House of Representatives. Born in Miami in 1966 and currently residing in Tampa at age 56, Castor graduated from Emory University with a BA before earning her JD from Florida State University.
