U.S. Rep. Kathy Castor, who represents Florida’s 14th district in Congress, used her social media platform this week to inform constituents about community casework hours and to criticize the Trump Administration’s policies.

On July 21, Castor posted, “My caseworkers are here to help you cut through the red tape of federal agencies WEDNESDAY, my office will be hosting community casework hours from 10AM – 12PM to address casework issues related to veteran affairs, Social Security & Medicare and passports.”

She reiterated this message on July 23: “My caseworkers are here to help you cut through the red tape of federal agencies TODAY, my office will be hosting community casework hours from 10AM – 12PM to address casework issues relating to veteran affairs, Social Security & Medicare and passports.”

Later that same day, Castor addressed national policy concerns with a critical statement about the previous presidential administration: “The Trump Administration is failing our families, our health care, our education and so much more. Their destructive policies will have long lasting negative impacts on our country, and Congressional Republicans are just standing by and watching.”

Castor has served in Congress since 2007 after succeeding Jim Davis. She previously held a seat in the Florida House of Representatives. Born in Miami in 1966 and now residing in Tampa, Castor earned her undergraduate degree from Emory University and a law degree from Florida State University.
