Kathy Castor announces Black History Month event attendance and upcoming town hall

U.S. Rep. Kathy Castor, who represents Florida’s 14th district in Congress, recently highlighted her participation in community events and announced an upcoming town hall meeting through a series of posts on social media.

On February 9, 2026, Castor posted about her attendance at a local event: “It was an honor to celebrate with my neighbors at the City of Tampa’s Black History Month event.

With a focus on Tampa Bay area veterans, our country is better because of the honoree’s service.

As we celebrate America turning 250 years old, we must not forget the significant https://t.co/DpdA1pBJxZ“.

The following day, February 10, she invited constituents to participate in an upcoming public forum: “Join me at my next Town Hall in St. Petersburg!

Castor has represented Florida’s 14th District since 2007 after succeeding Jim Davis and previously served in the Florida House of Representatives. She was born in Miami in 1966 and currently resides in Tampa. Castor holds a bachelor’s degree from Emory University and a law degree from Florida State University.
