U.S. Rep. Kathy Castor, who represents Florida’s 14th district in Congress, recently shared her views on social media regarding President Trump’s foreign policy and a vote on Department of Homeland Security (DHS) funding. Castor, who has served in the U.S. House since 2007 after replacing Jim Davis, addressed both fiscal concerns and legislative decisions in her posts.
On January 22, 2026, Castor criticized former President Trump’s approach to international relations, writing “President Trump’s shredding of long-term friendships and alliances is fiscally harmful and dangerous.
Americans want to afford the roof over their head and the food on their table. If President Trump really believed in ‘America First’ he would listen to our neighbors.”
Later that same day, Castor posted a brief message with a link: “https://t.co/g5ft8fXyP2” (January 22, 2026).
She also released a statement regarding her decision on DHS funding: “My statement on voting “No” on DHS Funding Bill due to ongoing abuses: https://t.co/zqzAuCImvz” (January 22, 2026).
Castor has been an active figure in Congress for nearly two decades and previously served in the Florida House of Representatives. She was born in Miami in 1966 and resides in Tampa. Her educational background includes a BA from Emory University (1988) and a JD from Florida State University (1991).
