On March 31, 2025, Castor affirmed her support for the Taxpayer Data Protection Act, emphasizing the importance of safeguarding personal information. She stated “That’s why I am proud to co-sponsor the Taxpayer Data Protection Act. Your Social Security Number or any personal, identifiable information should not be in the hands of those who do not have the necessary clearance to access it.”

In another post shared on the same date, Castor raised concerns about the difficulties citizens were experiencing with the Social Security system, addressing issues related to website access and communication with officials. She pondered, “Hmm, I wonder why the Social Security website is crashing and no one can get ahold of anyone on the phone causing public outrage?”

Furthering her online engagement on the same day, Castor tweeted a more personal message about her desire to be in a different setting, “Get me to God’s country”

Kathy Castor has served in the U.S. Congress since 2007, having previously represented Florida’s 14th District after succeeding Jim Davis. She holds degrees from Emory University and Florida State University.
