U.S. Representative Kathy Castor, serving Florida’s 14th district since 2007, has been vocal on social media about various topics ranging from energy efficiency to personal greetings. Castor, who succeeded Jim Davis in Congress and previously served in the Florida House of Representatives, frequently shares her views and sentiments with her constituents.

On May 9, 2025, Rep. Castor addressed misconceptions regarding energy-efficient appliances. She stated “And it’s not true! Energy efficient appliances help consumers & small biz save . Oil and gas corporations & many utilities don’t like it when you save energy and save $, so they spread misinformation that certain appliances are being forced upon you. That’s false!” This tweet highlights her stance against misinformation purportedly spread by oil and gas corporations concerning consumer choice in appliance usage.

The following day, on May 10, 2025, Castor expressed support for a local sports team with a brief message “Go Bulls! “. This tweet showcases her connection to local culture and community spirit.

On May 11, 2025, she extended a holiday greeting with the message “Happy Mother’s Day “, sharing a personal note on the occasion celebrated across the country.

Kathy Castor was born in Miami in 1966 and resides in Tampa. She graduated from Emory University with a BA in 1988 and earned a JD from Florida State University in 1991.
