U.S. Representative Kathy Castor, who has been serving Florida’s 14th district since 2007, has recently shared her perspectives on key issues via social media. Castor, an advocate for environmental conservation, clean water, and critical of rising costs and political discord, continues to communicate her stance on these matters to her constituents and the broader public.

On April 30, 2025, Castor highlighted the importance of environmental protection in Florida. In her post, she wrote, “Florida is a special but fragile place, and our way of life depends on clean water. Together we can permanently protect these waters, our planet, our pocketbooks and our people from costly oil disasters and pollution!”

Continuing her engagement on May 1, 2025, Castor expressed her concerns about economic and political challenges. In reference to the Trump administration, she stated, “Americans do not deserve the chaos and higher costs inflicted by Trump during his first 100 days.”

Later the same day, following a session of votes, Castor shared her reflections on recent congressional activities. She commented, “Votes just ended – here are my thoughts on the chaos of this week, and preparing for what is next.”

Kathy Castor’s ongoing tenure in Congress is marked by her commitment to progressive environmental policies and her critique of economic and political conditions. Born in Miami in 1966 and now residing in Tampa, Castor is a graduate of Emory University and Florida State University, where she earned her BA and JD, respectively. She initially served in the Florida House of Representatives before succeeding Jim Davis in the U.S. Congress in 2007.
