The Tampa Police Department has unveiled its 2024 TPD Community and Resources Enhancing Success (C.A.R.E.S.) grant program aimed at supporting projects and programs benefiting the residents of Tampa. Chief Lee Bercaw emphasized the importance of this initiative, stating, "This funding is an investment in our community."

With a total of $35,000 available for the funding awards, grants will be distributed in tiers ranging from $1,000 to $10,000. Eligible applicants include community groups, associations, agencies, or non-profit organizations with 501(c)(3) or 501(c)(4) designations serving residents within the City of Tampa.

The focus of the TPD C.A.R.E.S. funding is on youth or adult programs related to crime prevention and community engagement, encompassing areas such as social development, mentorship, drug or domestic abuse prevention, and mental health support.

Interested parties can apply for the grant starting March 11, 2024, with the deadline set for midnight on April 05, 2024. Successful applicants will be notified via mail and the Tampa Police Department's website, with award presentations scheduled accordingly.
