The Hillsborough River is going green ahead of next weekend’s Tampa’s Downtown River O’ Green event. As reported by the press release, the Tampa Downtown Partnership, Grow Financial, and City of Tampa Water Department will test the dye that will transform the river in preparation for the annual St. Paddy’s Day celebration. A specially equipped boat will temporarily color a portion of the river, showcasing the environmentally safe and non-toxic dye.

According to the statement, "The coloring is safe for the environment, humans, and animals. It's non-toxic, biodegradable, meets all EPA standards, and is certified to comply with National Sanitation Foundation Standard 60 for use in and around drinking water." The dye used is commonly employed in medical procedures, food, and water systems for tracing purposes.

The Tampa Downtown Partnership will be hosting Tampa's Downtown River O’ Green presented by Grow Financial on Saturday, March 16, offering a range of activities for attendees. The event will feature food vendors, a variety of beers, a pet costume contest, and other entertaining activities. Additionally, the Tampa Rough Riders will be holding their St. Patrick’s Parade in Downtown Tampa to coincide with the River O’ Green festivities.

For more information about the event, interested parties are encouraged to visit tampasdowntown.com. The Tampa Downtown Partnership, which organizes the event, is described as a private, membership-based not-for-profit organization dedicated to advancing Tampa's downtown area through various initiatives.

In conclusion, the Hillsborough River's transformation ahead of the River O' Green event signifies the start of the festive celebrations in Tampa, promising a fun-filled experience for all attendees.
